Penning down this piece just to blurt out some things that are plaguing my mind since long. It’s a mixture of a lot of things, basis of which is related to our LFC and a subject close to every supporter’s heart (supposing everyone likes to learn about our vast history) and the other core is formed by what’s going on in the world since few years now. Yes you must’ve guessed about it, I’m talking of a day etched deep within the memories of every Merseysider. Some who were affected directly are still feeling the pain of an irrecoverable loss. And then there are others who can feel their agony and anguish at what happened on that wretched day of the 4 th month of 1989. A day which should be remembered by everyone alike, for every fan or supporter is family to us in the Red. I was born 3 months after the incident but I have tears whenever I read, hear or see videos about the day. Many say that people outside Merseyside cannot feel the pain, I agree with you but only partly. I say partl...

Note: 30 day fans read at your own risk Eve of the world cup. Unarguably the biggest spectacle on planet earth where billions and billions of people are stuck on their couch for a whole month while everything else (well most of it) is put on the side burner. The focus is solely on one thing and one thing only, game of two halves played by 11 people each in two teams who sole purpose is to just win. And by win I mean not just the trophy but also the hearts and praises of the paying audience. In this process of trying to achieve immortality, many lose their heart, some lose their senses, some let go of their judgement while a few have even lost their precious lives. But the chosen few who pass their way through every barrier, who wade their way through every defence, who light up the whole world with one wave of their lacy wands and those who stand their ground and say “Thou shall not pass”. One who play as one and move as one, those who stay through cracked walls or missed spells...

Writing this on the penultimate day of the season, a year that has been nothing but stupendous by all means. I am not aiming this to be a season review because the season is not yet over (at-least for some). My sole aim is to project the positivity that has been with us for quite some time now. So I shall begin, but then again which point can be deemed as the starting point, that is a question troubling me for quite some time. Some say it was the Derby game at home the others believe it was the game against Arsenal but I would love to say it was the game at the turn of the year. The game against Hull a month back was a disaster to say the least and this one was also coming at a point where we were flat as a punctured tire. We were not in a good position at the end of 2013 as we were just below the top quartet which was our main aim at the beginning of this roller coaster ride. The task was cut out ahead of us and was not simple enough having lost two tough games despite doing ...

Disclaimer: NO naysayers or pessimists were harmed in any way during or before the course of writing this article Pacing in the corridor uneasily, head bowed in deep contemplation for a minute then turned skywards asking the powers that be “Why?” Then next moment mind veers towards the fact that we didn't give up then suddenly gets pulled back to reality that we did not get the job done and lost. All this felt like I was a ship travelling through high waters; up and down, left and right swerving about wildly never knowing whether it’s going forward or just standing there. To ease some pain I decided to write this down. Dejection, despair, disgusted and devastated are among the few words that come to my mind (only a few to keep this short n simple). This plethora of words is stemming from a single event and probably a single emotion too. All this inside of me or for that matter every fan/supporter (read whichever word you like) is a direct consequence of the ill fated m...

Life can be hard and uncompromising or even downright painful. But sometimes it gives you happiness mixed with anxiety just like eating a chocolate with a sour coating, it tastes sour at the onset all the while making you want to spit it out but you hang on because you know the sweet part is coming. And when it does, nothing can be as tastier. Thinking of chocolates reminds me of why I am writing this, our beloved Liverpool FC. These last few years (especially under the one whose face resembles an owl, isn't it?) have been downright sour but we knew the sweet part would come. All these years we had that feeling of disbelief and even disgust at times. Nobody knew when this would go away but we all knew it was somewhere there lurking behind the dark clouds. Now the days of owls and whiskey are over, the days of Chihuahuas and laughter are here. The sweet in the chocolate has finally broken past the layers and layers of sourness; we have finally managed to wade...
