Writing this on the penultimate day of the season, a year
that has been nothing but stupendous by all means. I am not aiming this to be a
season review because the season is not yet over (at-least for some). My sole
aim is to project the positivity that has been with us for quite some time now.
So I shall begin, but then again which point can be deemed
as the starting point, that is a question troubling me for quite some time.
Some say it was the Derby game at home the others believe it was the game against
Arsenal but I would love to say it was the game at the turn of the year. The
game against Hull a month back was a disaster to say the least and this one was
also coming at a point where we were flat as a punctured tire. We were not in a good position at the end of 2013
as we were just below the top quartet which was our main aim at the beginning
of this roller coaster ride. The task was cut out ahead of us and was not
simple enough having lost two tough games despite doing well in them. We were
top going into festive period but emerged a little dented at the end of it.
Most thought (not our fans) that it would trigger an implosion and we would
begin the descent to where we were languishing the last few seasons. We knew
that this could prove to be a lesson and sp*r the team onwards and upwards. We won the game against Hull and on this topsy turvy ride. This team has shown us that it can take a hit and still be standing just when
you thought the team would not come back and fight as was the case last few
years. WE have shown some character by not giving up I don’t know whom to give
the credit as I am far away from the action and I can only see whats shown to
me via the idiot box. I and many others can take guesses as to who it is, it
maybe Dr Steve Peters who has worked with many athletes before and has a proven
track record of delivering the goods. It can also be down to the staff who have
kept the players in good shape despite having a few niggles every now and then,
kept working with them and instilled a belief in the players that they can come
back fast from the injuries and perform better. Now some would also tell me
that its purely down to the manager himself for coaching them in a particular
fashion, not just for football but for life as a whole. He has made the players
look and behave like a team and not just play like one. Everytime he speaks we
have an assurance that the job is with the right man, who has upholds not just
a few but many values of this club. We supporters feel that way just by
listening to him few times a week and for a few minutes at most, imagine what
the players feel like.
After reading all this everyone probably knows, it is never a single person who is responsible for the changes which are as evident as Rooney’s bald head. Every single one of them has worked hard and tirelessly so that this great club can find its way back on the path shown to us by the likes of King Kenny, Rush, Barnsey and countless other legends. And the biggest credit should go to players themselves who were willing to learn, improve, push themselves, keep themselves fit, recover fast and most importantly play the way we have played so far.

The job is not done yet for we are just beginning the
journey towards something special, regardless of what happens on the final matchday. Keep believing and hold on to your hearts
and seats because this maybe a ride which can give the best of roller coasters
a run for its money. Onwards and Upwards we go ......................
